Hey, been a long time since I have played this game... just finished playing Planescape: Torment for the first time (loved it), and I really grew used to being able to run everywhere. I don't recall.. does this game have a similar feature? It would be a huge convenience.

I do seem to recall using haste on my party on previous playthrus to get past areas quickly, but just had to know if there is any other way to speed things up a bit.

There is no run functionality in IWD. Nor is there in BG1 and BG2.

If you really want to run, though, get some Boots of Speed. They give the wearer permanent haste. There are cheats to spawn items so you could spawn 6 Boots of Speed if you need to.
Yeah, that makes sense.. I seem to remember having a few pairs of those boots on a previous playthru.

Thanks for the reply.. I feel a bit spoiled after Planescape: Torment... this game is good, and creating all your characters is great, but the not being able to run initially really slows the pace down.

I always had problems with Dalekeeper - I don't know why.

But there's another tool I use it's called "Infinity Engine Savegame Editor" and it's for Torment, Icewind Date and both Baldur's Gate.

In the character-stats under "variables" there is a "speed" variable which I always set to 9 to make them walk faster without having to cheat boots or something.

You can use the configuration program to set the frame rate to more frames per second. It's under the "game" tab. Doing this makes the game run a whole lot faster, so your characters seem to run from one place to another. It speeds up the boring parts where you are walking from one place to another, but it also makes everything else in the game faster. Therefore, you should make use of the auto-pause functions in the game, or just be quick on the spacebar. When the frame rate slider is too high, real-time combat is not feasable.
