Just finished the Vail and because there doesn't seem to be a block on selling quest items (the only thing I don't love about the game so far) I want to unload some of these keys but I'm not sure if I should. Also I found a skull, nothing more, just a skull, should I keep it? Finally the Holy Symbol of Myrkul which seems to just be a fancy key, should I hold onto it or sell it?

THANKS! :D

In general, plot items are relevant only to the chapter in which they are found. The exceptions to that rule are extremely obvious.

You can discard the keys safely. Same goes for the symbol of Myrkul.

The skull is a red herring. It confused me at first, too.

There's a merchant in Kuldahar that will buy keys and books. You can safely sell them there, as he gives you a gold piece for each and only charges one gold to buy them back in case you need them. But, as noted, after the chapter ends, you can dump them.

Gerth's Equipment Shoppe buys most keys and books. Most. The Symbol of Myrkul is one of the exceptions. I'd not be quick in discarding items, since some may be needed later, so either sell them to Gerth or store them somewhere in Kuldahar (I like using one of the containers in the Evening Shade Inn).

That merchant buys some books for one gold; others he gives you as much as 100. I also found someone willing to give me 100 for the skull but I held onto it for that very reason. Every time I play I'm finding more of this stuff out.
