I can't seem to find the non-enhanced edition on GOG?

How can i get it? I sadly don't have my disks anymore.
Beamdog ensured that the classic versions of Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale are no longer available UNLESS you buy their inferior versions. So you need to buy the enhanced version if you want the classic.
If you buy the Enhanced Edition, then GOG will include in your game library a gift code that can be redeemed for the classic edition. This gift code can be given to someone else if you want only the Enhanced Edition. You could also try to get someone else to buy the Enhanced Edition (or you could buy it for them) and get them to give you the gift code that redeems for classic edition.

Beware that although the Enhanced Edition is improved in some places, it has changes that many people consider not to be worthy of the name.

This sums it up. Beamdog sunk to EA level of slime, and made the classics unavailable unless you buy their crappy products.

On top of that, Icewind Dale Enhanced really is the one that is the one they should definitly revisit, the other two EEs are way more patched in terms of interface and so on. (the stuff Beamdog is actually quite okay at)

I thought the new interface and the whole character sheet layout sucked in the newest patches (of BG) actually.

If it works, don't change it.

Are you serious? What have you been smoking? The (EE) interface is a hideous mess.

Text looks awesome and it´s scaling nicely. Yes, it could have been better overall if you´d redo everything from scratch. But that´s not up to Beamdogs Budget...
...and there was a reason why I wrote "quite okay at" and not "are total genius at". :D

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess. It is subjective, and I think it's hideous.

But it doesn´t really work in high resolutions.

Well, in some degrees. It could have certainly done better in a way that everybody would like it the same or better...
...once again, as I said, they are only "quite okay at" their job.

E-Bay/WeBuy.com for the actual games - and they were made by Black Isle.

Not certain, but weren't the game codes for the Gog originals replaced with some kind of "GOGCOM patched & upgraded" thing regardless, after the EE event horizon?

Ahh yes... the big-boxed physical copies of the games, with the small thick spiral-bound manuals, cloth maps... relics of an age gone by.

I got all the original big-boxes for IWD, IWD:HoW, PS:T, BG, BG:TotSC, BG2:ToB, and the Collector's Editions of BG2:SoA and IWD2.

I even got the later-released big-boxed bundled editions, which includes all the existing official soundtrack CDs.

All pristine, mint condition.

A full book shelf in my Nerd Cave: a dedicated shrine to the Bioware Infinity game engine titles. Ahh yes... a thing of beauty.

If I live to be a hundred, they will continue to be the pride and joy of my Nerd Cave Collection for the next fifty years.

Just "sail the 7 seas" for it.

Ah yes, expensive but a healthy option.
