Hello again. I like to make my own custom portraits whenever I can and use them in the Infinity CRPGs I play. IWD was always one of the worst for this because of the tiny sizes of the 'Medium' portraits and the wonky 'Tall and skinny' 'Small' portraits but now I am running into a different problem: When I try to "Save As..." a custom portrait (I.e. 'Save as 'FemClerL' and/or 'FemClerS'), they do not show up in the folder or the game! That's right if I save 'ElfGrl3S' (after I have already saved 'ElfGrl3L' successfully), everything seems to go well until I open up the folder to see the thumbnails. Then the new portraits do not show up.

Is this due to a game issue or must I switch to some crappy GIMP program or some such?

If you are trying to replace the built-in portraits, they need to go into the override folder. Other portraits go into the 'portraits' folder.

I am not replacing any. All customs for my PCs and in the 'Portraits' folder. I have made sure all were the correct sizes and 24 bit color and they are all named correctly. Cannot for the life of me figure this out.

Ok, so what operating system are you using, and what path do you have the game installed to?

Windows XP (Yes I can afford to 'upgrade' to Windows 8 and in fact I own that OS as well, but W8 does me no good for running the games I enjoy) and the install path is '"C:\GOG Games\Icewind Dale Complete\".

I was able to get one of the portraits working by using "Save copy as..." to a different location and then manually moving the BMP into the 'Portraits' folder of IWD Complete so I am going to try that with the others as well. I suspect the problem is with Paint Shop Pro rather than with IWD itself.
