Ok this is my first time posting so here it is... I Run the game and click create game and the game went black and frozed, anyone know how to fix this? im on windows 7 btw.

Have you tried the suggestions in this thread or the 4th post of this one ?

ok i did run as administrator and run the game and i got another problem. its says

An Assertion failed in ChDimm.cpp at line number 600 Programmer says: Unable to Open BIF:data\GUIfont.bif

whats that? its that in my icewind dale folder?

Open the icewind.ini file and make sure that the directories mentioned under the [alias] section all point to your installation directory or one of the sub-directories thereof.

That ini check worked for me!!!! It was pointing to my original install folder be for I moved it to my game drive.
