I'm really enjoying the Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition and just heard about the 1.4 patch. It's coming soon to gog.com from what I hear - is this true? I'd like to get my hands on it.

Coming soon. Official quote:

"Beamdog is proud to announce that Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition 1.4 is available now through Beamdog, Steam, and Google Play, with the GOG, Mac App, and iTunes App Stores to follow soon."

Yes, everyone will have the patch/updated Mac and Linux builds shortly :)

I'm very pleased that GOG received the patch that quickly, but can't we get a better way of handling Linux patches?

Windows has a 1.6MB patch. On Linux, I have to redownload the entire 2.4GB again?

As of right now, yes, I do hope we'll have the Linux side worked on to better provide updates besides having to re-download the entire game but as of right now, it's the best thing we have atm. Sorry :(

Good to hear it's being worked on.

On the other hand, I'd rather have to download the whole thing for a patch, than not have the patch at all.

mmm Judas, does is really hurt to input the gog build instead or alonside the game build version

because i'm really lost between either gog build / game build / date of the patch ....

i use the gog number in my spreedsheat because gog started with this convention , now it's just painfull if i look across my collection.

sorry to another rant, but this was asked many times (not only me) . At least i have some hope : gog started to input the full gog build number in the shelves since the german update,or so please continue with this convention.

i could understand you input the game build alsonside the gog build for the patches though :)

I can put it in there but then we'll have confusion regarding the build, I suppose :)

Anyways, I added the GOG installer version to the patch for Windows :)

that's possible, really i understand.

but well you could use this format for the patch :

game version (gog version)

or input the date the patch is getting live like this :

game version (release date)

just a though , nothing more. :)
The 1.6 MB Windows patch doesn't seem to do anything. The ingame version is still 1.3..... and someone with the beamdog version just told me his patch required him to download ~600 MB.

Am I missing something? Does that "(in-game)" attached to the patch name mean anything in particular?

indeed 1.6 MB seems very too low , according to the changelog description.

especially this game has all languages included in the installer & some translations have been added....

I can confirm this. For example the release notes pdf states there are two new difficulty options, but they are not there after applying this very small patch.
Same here. When I installed the game (full game not patch to be clear) I had seen Galaxy Client crashing. I'm not on alpha test - so this means stub installed with TWAG. Interesting question is - is this related? Maybe update was supposed to run through Galaxy like TWAG or AvP?
EDIT:
Did it once more to check out the log. I deleted it just before playing with IWD:EE
Log is anticlimactic really:
2015-03-05 05:53:42 [galaxy_client][Information]: Log started. Application version: 0.1.0.456 (2014-09-18 11:34).

What is weird - this ID is already used for TWAG.

Tried this removing Galaxy client first. It was not installed by IWD:EE so no crash, however patch still seems to do nothing.
Hi all,

We've posted a new version of Patch 1.4 for Icewind Dale EE. This patch weighs in at 380 MB.

Please make sure you have the following file downloaded:

patch_icewind_dale_enhanced_edition_2.0.2.3

This should give you the proper patch now :)

Sorry for the hassle, everyone/
