My 7th-level totemic druid / 8-level fighter cannot cast any spells (other than the 'spirit' animal). Anyone else ever run into this problem?

Are you wearing metallic armor/shield?

I don't think it should make a difference, but it's worth a try to unequip them and see if he can cast spells then.

Yes at the time she hit level 8, she was wielding a +2 dagger and the red knight + 3 shield. A few levels before that, the game allowed me to select long sword proficiency, but wouldn't permit equipping it.

Removing all armor & weapons makes no difference...no spells.

Solved...on beamdog....Evidently, I didn't realize you needed to re-memorize spells after dual-classing. My bad. In my defense, I can only say that I haven't played any of the infinity engines games in years.

In Baldur's Gate 2 there is a related, but more annoying, issue. When a character is level drained, the character will de-memorize spells and you have to manually re-memorize them after restoring the character. (The Enhanced Edition apparently fixed this annoyance, but not until 1.3, I believe.)
