Hi guys , did you ever tried disintegrate Belhifet on HOF ? i heard that he has 100 magic RESS , but when i attack him with disintegrate insted of spell ressitance infromation a get this " magic saving throw 14 , 20, 24" is this means he can really be killed with disintegrate ? if game system dosent lie he is taking a rolls even is he 100 magic ressistant

It's a guess, but if he fails his roll he just probably resists the effect. I'm not sure if there is a "Lower Resistance" spell in IWD1, but if there is then technically he could be disintegrated, unless he is specifically resistant against such effects. Never tried it myself though.

Just had a look around at some tactics for beating Belhifet and a FAQ on GameFAQs suggests that he can be stunned with a high-level Chromatic Orb, provided it penetrates his Magic Resistance and saving throw. As such, that statement alone implies that his Magic Resistance can fail. So if Chromatic Orb can get through, then I see no reason why Disintegrate couldn't get through. Don't know what the chances of him failing his Magic Resistance and Saving Throw are, though.

Belhifet is not immune to magic, but he has mega resistances. Here are his complete stats:

is this he's stats from HOF ? ressist acid = 0 ? i just tried acid arrows and it fails , how to fight him solo mage/cleric on HOF?

Those are his raw 'Creature' stats. The game adjusts the difficulty in HoF mode automatically, so I cannot say how the stats would differ in that.

Your Acid Arrows are magic arrows, so are affected by both Save vs. Spell and Resist Magic. You need to reduce his resistances. Use 'Lower Resistance', as he gets no saving throw against it.

there really is such spells ? i went through all orginal campaign and didnt found it , now im google it and found this :

Just keep in mind that you cannot return to Kuldahar until you beat the final boss in Heart of Winter. I haven't played through IWD in a long time, so as I said I wasn't sure if you could get 'Lower Resistance' in the main campaign, and apparently you can only get it in HoW, so if you really want to go through with this then going to HoW, buying the spell, beating the final boss and then coming back is the only option, I believe.

Or use the console and give yourself the spell...

What's the point in doing that? Might as well use the console and just kill Belhifet. That's just silly.

It's no sillier than having to go through HoW in its entirety before being able to come back to dispatch Bhelifet, at which time your party is completely overpowered and you no longer even need the spell. Besides, since the spell exists in the Icewind Dale world, it should be available before going to the HoW campaign. It's just a quirk of the development that makes it unavailable in the original campaign.

Well, to me personally trying to disintegrate Belhifet is pointless to begin with, as he is very easy to defeat even without going through HoW. However, since the OP seems very adamant at trying to defeat Belhifet with his solo cleric/mage, (using magic) I thought I'd give him the "legal" solution, at which point he might realise that it really isn't worth all the hassle, or he might go through with it anyway, if he really wants to. But yes, the console is another solution.

But whatever. It seems asinine to me to play through the entire expansion just to get one spell for one single battle.
