astrobryguy: IWD1 Classic and IWD2 are run on macOS by using Wineskin. While the Wineskin launcher is a 64-bit app, the Wine binaries in the Wineskin bundle binaries are not. There have been some 64-bit builds of Wine done, but they run 64-bit Windows apps, not 32-bit Windows apps, and only with limited compatibility (think, "yay Notepad++ runs!").
Codeweavers apparently has a "run 32-bit code in a 64-bit process and call 64-bit libraries" solution, but it is a commercial product. I don't know if GOG would be willing to partner with them to repackage all these games with Catalina-compatible macOS bundles (or if it even works).
Codeweavers does have a free trial if you want to try it out.
it is actually possible to run applications in a Wineskin Wrapper on MacOS Catalina or newer. I described how it is done in a separate post to help other people as well.
