Hi all =)

Icewind Dale, for many reasons, is one of my fondest game, and I think I play it at least once in a couple of years ^^

Lately, I went to complete the Arboretum quest, and gave the monk all he requested. He then leaves, but I remember that the surroundings were supposed to change (water flowing back, light streaming through the windows...) ; here, nothing happened.

Is it some kind of distorted memory ? Or did I do something wrong ? Or maybe am I supposed to wait ?

Anyone has a clue ?

As you bring each item (pure water, seeds, squirrels, birds), you get a 'tile flip' fade, and the items appear... spawn. This is an Infinity Engine game, so there is no dynamic lighting effect changes.

Each time you give him one of the items, you get a "fade to black" and a part of the scene changes:

pure water --> the moat around the statue is filled with water again (not animated though)
birds cage -> birds hover over the grass (animated)
seeds -> withered plants replaced with fresh green plants

If the fade-to-black didn't happen for you, maybe it's just a glitch. Try exiting and re-entering the room.

SO I wasn't mistaken... but if it's a glitch, I couldn't get past it, nothing happened again =(

Anyways, the quest was fulfilled, it's just a little sad ^^
