Hey guys,

I've got some weird breakup and stuttering in the audio, similar to what I get in the Gabriel Knight games. Does anyone know a fix for this? It makes it quite hard to concentrate :S

Cheers!

(I haven't got this problem with any audio or any other games, just the two mentioned. My laptop is a relatively high-end one specifically for gaming and audio engineering/recording)

I don't think the issue is CPU-bound, I've got the same problem with an overclocked 2500K @ 4.4GHz. I tried messing with the emulation settings but had no luck. I wonder if it has something to do with DosBox? If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them as well
It's possible the game might work better in SCUMMVM, as far as the audio goes, although there appear to be other issues.

Stuttering here too. Makes the game pretty much unplayable for me.

PLEASE fix this GOG!
Have you tried changing cycles from auto to some fixed value? 10000, 20000 or whatever works.
With issues like these please write to us via the Support link for the game. The more info we get about this issue (hardware, configuration etc. etc.) the faster we can solve this problem. Thanks :)

As long as you gave as much info as possible about the error and the DxDiag, I think we're good :D

Sure thing, I'll also send mine through. Forgive my technical incompetence, but how do I export the DxDiag to send through with a support ticket?

Hit Windows key + R to open the Run prompt and type in DxDiag. After the check has finished running, click the button at the bottom of the screen that says "Save All Information...". Save it as dxdiag.txt and upload that to your service request.

Good luck!
Not sure if it is related...I ran the game in Compability Mode in Windows first and also had audio stutters.
Then switched back to the "normal" mode and everything runs fine now.

I have mine in normal mode and I have the stuttering. I've tried changing a bunch of stuff in the graphics settings and GOG support just told me to update my directx, which I did to no avail. Has anyone been able to get theirs to play well with good sounding digital audio?
high rated
Try changing the "prebuffer=20" value under the [mixer] section in the config file (dosboxnomouth.conf) to a higher number. I changed mine from 20 to 100 and the stuttering went away, at least so far. I haven't gotten very far in the game yet and I may have to adjust it again later.

I've had the same problem and that fixed it for me! Thanks! :)
