Hello!

Except small problems with graphic glitches, I'm having a problem were not all of the picture is showing in-game.
For example; the button isn't showing on the screenshot I have attached. Antaeus have 4 unit slots, but can only point the mouse over two of them.

I have tried to set the resolution a bit down and even patching, but I'm still having the same problem.
Is there a fix for this?

Any luck sorting this out? I own the CD version of the game and had this problem. Was hoping the gog version would have sorted out the graphical problems with this game.

Hostile Waters was developed before widescreen and fails with widescreen resolutions, since it is V- and cuts off vital controls in the unit building screen.

You have to set a 4:3 resolution eg

640x480
800x600
1024x768
1280x960
1600x1200

You'll have black bars on the side of your screen but at least you'll be able to play the game.

I have found that running the game in a window solves the cut-off problem. Create a shortcut to the
HostileWaters.exe file. Go to its Properties and in the Target field type this at the end of the path:
-windowed

If the resolution is set to a 4:3 ratio, such as 1280x960, the game should run correctly without cutting off the bottom part of the screen.

You know... I played the entire game through without slotting the bottom part of my sharks, pheonix, and Rhino's. I didn't notice the slots cause the screen was cut off...

I also had this problem with the CD version, glad to see there is a solution so I can finally play it after all these years!

Found the solution ( after finishing the game...)
Go in regedit and modify the resolution there. You can put 4K or whatever you want and it will be stretched but not cut !

Yes, you'll need to change your monitor settings to either 1:1 or aspect, not stretch. On my monitor it's under "Display Settings" but it will vary by manufacturer.

I would add that it's pretty easy to use nvidia's control panel to add antialiasing and better anistropic filtering that greatly enhances the visuals. I'm sure AMD control center (or whatever the software is called) can do the same thing. The game is old enough that pretty much any computer can run it with enhanced settings.
