Alex_the_gamer: I have the same problem too.
I send support ticket to GOG.com team for their help. They says I need to run Galaxy Client, then click repair button to repair KoD. Then I need to reinstall Visual C++ 2015 x86 and x64 (they gave me both link to download).
I am not familiar with this procedures. This is new to me, and concern. If I keep having problem with reinstalling Visual C++ 2015, I will have to uninstall Visual C++ 2017, then uninstall Visual C++ 2015. I will have to restart my computer then reinstall both Visual C++ 2015 and 2017 (starting with C++ 2015 first), then restart my computer few times. This could affect to my brand new gaming pc that I don't know about it.
I recently bought it from Best Buy online, in hoping to give my old gaming pc some much need check up, repairs, and maintenance.
I am not sure if I should go with this procedures. What should I do? Is there any simple step-by-steps I could follow, so I don't make any mistakes?
You don't have to uninstall the 2017 version. But for this game you need the 2013 and 2015 package and maybe the 2012 one as well. Just download and install all the packages below and the game should work:
You'll need those redistributables for a lot of games anyway.
So the first thing to do when you set up a gaming pc is to install Visual C++ (All versions) and DirectX 9.
