It's possible there's no flag at all for that event, since I imagine shiny items that are interactable, as I assume these drops are supposed to be, would persist on the ground to be picked up later. If so, the only flag would be one that says whether or not you beat the level already, and not if you picked up the actual item.

Should this be the case there is no fix, only a fresh save will not encounter the problem. Bit of sloppy programming, and a bummer for us besides =/

That's an unfortunate possibility. Maybe the developers can confirm whether or not a patch can fix this for those already affected? I don't want to start 20+ hours over for nothing, but if that's the only way to get 100% then I might as well not wait.

Well this sucks, I'm 30+ hours in the game and wanted to 100% it. Looks like im going to have to start a new save game or hope the patch in a solution. Either way I beat the game and enjoyed, but learning i couldn't 100% because of a bug also made me pretty salty about the game :(

You can still have all the endings without the notch and the pale ore, but you might miss the epilogue of the blacksmith character arc (I really really want to see the strange couple achievement ). Also 30 hrs-ish is only the first speed run, I think I took around 40-ish but I got lost a lot. In a second play through knowing the location of all the power ups and how to obtain them, might reduce the time to 10-12hrs (excluding the trial of the fools) to obtain 100% completion.

Anyway, let's hope a new update might solve the problem or let's check if it's possible to update the savefile to add the missing notch and ore

So it means that now I've successfully done the first I'm screwed forever? I'll never finish the blacksmith storyline? I just don't have the time to start all over and I really wanted 100% as well. Damn this makes me want to just stop playing the game...

When did you do the trial? The first one gives a notch, and the second gives a pale ore. The bug has been fixed for a while now. Even if you did the first trial without getting a notch, an updated version of the game may allow you to get the ore from the second trial if you haven't beaten it already.

Any GOG owners of HK who visited Colosseum on 1.0.0.5 and has the notch/pale ore issue - upload your savegame, I will fix it for you.
