While exploring, I returned to the intro area(to get the health upgrade), and apparently jumped of a ledge I wasn't supposed to, and now I'm stuck.

Up another ledge, I see one of the "make-a-ladder" buttons, but I see no way to reach it.

Does anyone know of a way back?

If you ever get stuck somewhere you could try hitting the "respawn" tab in your menu.
If this fail, you actually have backup saves under C://...../Documents/My Games/Runic Games/Hob/SAVES/BACKUPS.
Simply put the backup you want in the SAVE folder and load it from the ingame menu.

Thank you for the answer, but I already tried that.

The ledge I jumped down from was at a save/respawn point, and since I spent several minutes exploring the area, all backup saves are also from within this area.

It was not easy but I managed to fix it:

Used a frame limiter and after several attempts managed to clip through a wall. After that I built your ladder and saved at the next checkpoint. Have fun (and make a backup of the file in case something like this happens again :)).
