Figured I'd ask, but has anyone tried this?

http://www.hitmanforum.com/index.php/topic/59059-true-hitman-full-hd-quadrilogy-for-pc/

I'm giving it a shot now, and I can edit everything BUT the render textures part.

Render textures
hitman2.exe
00000000C744240C0000803FD80D44986300D956->00000000C744240C0000003FD80D44986300D956
00000000C74424100000803FD95C24088B880C17->00000000C74424100000003FD95C24088B880C17
00000000C74424100000803F89442418894C241C->00000000C74424100000003F89442418894C241C

None of these values are found in the GOG version from what I can tell.

EDIT: This is for Hitman 2, by the way.
Apparently it's the only one this trick works on correctly.
The others have some minor issues from what he says in the thread.

Hey, i once tried hex editing the hitman2 EXE to try and remove the save cap (http://www.gog.com/forum/hitman_series/is_there_a_way_to_remove_the_save_game_cap) and was given the gog hitman2.exe and at that time i noticed it was UPX'ed (it has been compressed) so the values you are looking for might be there but changed due to compression, i would recommend decompressing it first (download UPX and run it in command-line with "upx -d hitman2.exe" and that will decompress the EXE allowing you to HEX edit it properly) then editing the EXE and recompressing it back.
I hope this info helps.
I can confirm myself that any values you cannot find are due to compression and using UPX will solve this.

EDIT: Also, you can ignore the HUD and Texture changes, I've been tinkering with all of this and finally have it all fixed up for the GOG.com version. So far I have had zero physics or speed issues and everything is running fine in 1920x1080 fullscreen. If anyone needs help understanding what to do, I can explain the steps clearly and in much more detail than this guide does, though I take no credit for the fix itself.

Well, I would be very happy if you could post the steps for the hex editing, since no matter how I do it, it won't work.
I know this is an old thread, but if someone could pop in and give me (us) a hand it would be appreciated.

I know this is a late post, but is it possible to do the same thing to Hitman Contracts? I assume they use the same engine, right?

I would like for something like Hitman 2's Save Anywhere you created for Hitman Contracts, as that's the only Hitman game of the classics that lacks a "Save on Professional" cheat/program, as I also found Statman which allows for mid mission saves for the Steam version of Blood Money.

I tried unpacking the exe for both Hitman Contracts and Hitman 2 as a test using UPX like you did, but they both gave me errors of "NotPackedByUPX" and thus end up unpacked.
Your Lucky you caught me i only logged on for Abe's Oddysee for free :).
Anyway back to your question, i don't have the PC version of Hitman Contracts (i have it for Original XBOX and PS3 but not for PC).
I don't have the game so i don't know how the EXE is packed but the Steam versions of the game are protected with Steams own protection so you can't just edit them :(, if its the GOG version then the EXE might be packed or it might just be unprotected so you will need to look at it with a hex editor and see if it is.
The UPX was only for Hitman 2 GOG version, the original game didn't use UPX and the Steam version is protected by Steam's API.

Anyway i hope that clears things up, I don't have the game so i can't really help much more then that, if im able to get access to it i might be able to help more, which version is it your trying to edit ?

I'm trying to edit the GOG version. So can you walk me through what exactly you did with Hitman 2 to allow for saves on Professional? Because I'm gonna try and replicate that with Hitman Contracts.

Wonder if I can just give you the exe. It's not the full game, so I guess it wouldn't count as piracy but I'm not sure.
Well i can take a look that's the best i can promise (if you send me the EXE), its been so long since i did this for Hitman 2 i will have to dig through a lot of my old files and see if i can find my work, if not i will have to start from scratch.

Thanks. Lemme see if I can send you a dropbox link of the exe file for you to look at. See if you know what's going on and how to get it working.

Again, thanks.

EDIT: Here. Link removed just in case.

If the mods consider it piracy, I'll delete it, but here's the exe file to look at if you want.

Thanks for taking a look at this. Contracts is the last game I need a "Save on Professional" program for.

OK well i just got the EXE and i will start looking at it soon, just looking through my old files first to see if i can find my old work, so you can remove the link now if you want too just incase, I will get back to you in the next few hours (even if its bad news i will reply anyway just so you know what's going on). Wish me luck

Thank you very much for looking at this, and good luck.

If you can even just modify the Professional difficulty to have at least one save, I think that would be enough as I have found trainers that keep the save game number from dropping on use. Presumably, it uses some version of CheatEngine to do so, which is useful for any difficulty except Professional because you don't have any saves to use anyways.
Hey again, i found some work on Hitman 2 i did a few years ago which looks like it might be helpful, I just found a interesting value which might be it but since i can't test it myself you will have to do it for me :)
Download this and use it on your EXE ( you might need to right click and run as admin)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/3xmsxe3cnpx1ff5

OR if for some reason you don't want to download a file from a stranger or if you can't open the patch just get a hex editor and change the byte at 0010FF26 from 00 to FF then save (backup your EXE first incase anything goes wrong).

After applying the patch or editing the byte open the game and if its done right (or if the stuff i know from Hitman 2 is even useful at all to this game) you should have a game that when you go into Pro Difficulty it should give you 255 saves. It will also ONLY effect Pro, it shouldn't effect the other difficulties (but if it does let me know).
Anyway that's my first try, i have some other stuff i can try if that doesn't work, please let me know if it works, also please test past the first level incase it stops working on the second level.
Good Luck and i hope it works.

Alright, lemme test that out.

EDIT: Holy shit, it seems to work! I tested it out a little bit and it does give me 255 saves on Professional! Thanks!

Lemme try it with the trainer that supposedly keeps the save number from dropping, because that'll truly be unlimited saves, but so far it seems to have worked. Thanks a lot.

Wonder how you knew which value to change.

EDIT 2: Yup, the trainer seems to work, so whenever I save, it remains at 255. Man, you are a lifesaver. Now I can finally enjoy Hitman Contracts with the added difficulty of Professional without worrying about saves.

Although, it would be nice to not have to use a trainer. Wonder what you did with Hitman 2 to have it perpetually have one save left.

EDIT 3: One more thing, I assume the game resets the number of saves once I complete a level. Also, I wonder if any of the levels in Contracts offers "bonus saves", which could potentially increase the number of saves past 255 and cause issues if I don't save, maybe. If I run into any issues, I'll let you know, but these are the potential issues I can think of at the moment.

Still, thanks a lot for doing this. It finally allowed me to play Hitman Contracts the way I wanted to.

Glad it worked for you :), I'm not sure if you can get bonus saves on Professional (since you can't save anyway) but even if it does happen it shouldn't matter, the save system should allow even more then 255, i just made it 255 since that seemed like a number high enough that you wouldn't run out but if its a problem it can be made less if you want (i can make it always 5 or 6 or whatever you want if need be).
It should reset saves after every level so you should always get 255 but if you can test it to level 2 and make sure you still have 255 saves and not 0 i would appreciate it since i can't test it myself.
And Hopefully with 255 saves you won't need the trainer as well since it *should* give you 255 every level.
Anyway i hope it all goes OK.
