I'm just getting started with the game and the voice that's talking to me from the building often cuts and doesn't finish what he's saying. Not only that, the text at the bottom automatically stops too along with the voice.

How do I fix this?

If the problem was audio-related only I would have suggested to check whether hardware acceleration was on and turn it off.

Since also the text disappears it seems to be one of the many speed related issues, usually occurring on laptops. Does the game seem to run too fast otherwise? Sadly there does not seem to exist a good fix for this. What I discovered was that having the CPU stress at 100% during the startup of the game fixes speed related issues, it's quite a hassle achieving this though.

Yeah sorry for not closing this thread. I managed to solve it by coding a quick program that stresses the system, opens the game using only 1 core, then ceases the stress. It seems the system only needs to be stressed out on start and not while Hitman is already running so I pretty much just made a custom launcher. Thanks for the response though!

Nice, I also thought of programming such a launcher application but never got myself to do it. If you don't mind you could make your launcher available to the online community since people are getting these issues with Hitman pretty much all the time.

Sure, no prob. Here's the <span class="bold">download link to it</span> along with the source code of course. Or should I post this somewhere else?

Awesome! I think the best idea would be including it in my guide which got stickied - only if you don't mind of course. This way more people are likely to find it. Of course I will mention that it was you who made it. :)

Oh, it would be so great if someone also made similar launchers for Hitman 2 and Freedom Fighters...

Oh, not at all! Go ahead. :)

Lol xD Problem is, I don't have either of those so I don't even know what's wrong with them. I think I read somewhere that Hitman 2 didn't have the speed problems that Hitman C47 had.

Too bad. Actually it seems that all the Glacier Engine games before Hitman: Blood Money have this issue. Hitman 2 and Freedom Fighters definitely suffer from the same speed issue as Hitman 1 (I also had to apply the CPU stress trick to them when I played them last year). The only one I'm not perfectly sure about is Hitman: Contracts - I didn't have to use the trick for this one but there's a chance that this is simply because Contracts has somewhat higher system requirements and will only start behaving weirdly on even more powerful machines.

Sadly I can't test this stuff for now because my laptop is broken (for good, it seems) and I don't get these speed related issues on my gaming rig.

Yeah, I notice I'm not having speed problems when playing Hitman on an adept machine too. :) Hopefully it helps those who are stuck on laptops though.
