Is anybody else having this issue? On my PC, the cutscenes appear to be in mono and sound very loud compared to the rest of the game.

The Steam version has them in stereo and the sound level is fine.

My system: Win 8.1, Sound Blaster Z

Edit: I did some digging and found out that the GOG version's cutscene files (*.pc_binkvid) actually contain the stereo sound. But for some reason they are executed in mono and with strong dynamic range compression.

The Steam version has them in stereo and higher quality.

This seems like a driver-related thing. I highly recommend contacting our support team for troubleshooting the issue :)

Hello,
I contacted the support and they confirmed that the cutscene sounds are indeed in MONO. Hopefully IO Interactive will fix this soon.
Is there any progress on this? The support said they will contact the product team, but nothing has happened in four months.

i dunno, this happened to me on console! like, every time i went into a cutscene it would start cutting in and out of speech, and having static in background. In some cutscenes there was no audio at all. But back to gameplay and audio was smooth as butter. I dont know if this is just a generall fault with some versions of the game but i can only offer my condolences.
This should really get a fix. I don't care if the cutscenes are in mono or not, but they are way too loud compared to the rest of the game, which is very annoying.

edit: part of the problem is, that the game copies the mono audio channel from the video to every channel in a multichannel setup (fronts, rears, center and LFE), which in sum makes it too loud.
