I bought this off steam in a sale and it didnt work for windows 7, it was really weird everything moved at super fast speed o.O
But I was hoping the GOG version would work.
Have you tried enabling (forcing) VSync?
The super speed bug of Hitman has been unfixable as far as I know. Could someone confirm it has been fixed with gog version?

If not there's going to be a lot of unhappy customers, so I'd assume something is different here. :/

Dont some games on gog already say "might not run on windows 7"
This isnt like a Dos Box game that you can mod.....
I see what you are saying but before I buy I just want to check
I've tried it on Vista, and it seems some of the issues present in the original version have the same issues. I'm talking about the speed bug, and even the music bug that plays that creepy piano in the menu.

I really, REALLY hope these issues get ironed out soon, or this community gets some fixes through, because I really don't want to play it with this kind of speed. I wanna play as a Hitman, not as The Flash.

Yep. Instabought this game not too long ago. The speed is fast, and the music has the piano music unless you have a certain .dll file. Anyone have any solutions?
still too fast, :(

the reason I bought this now, even though I already own it on Steam is so that I could play it normally.
I actually suspect that this might have something to do with multi-core support. I recall having a similar issue (amongst others) with System Shock 2 on Win 7. once you set affinity to a singel core, it slowed down.
But when I tried to reset it with Steam, the game kept crashing.

EDIT: all right, resetting the affinity to a single core helps... somewhat. in tutorial, you can hear almost all the instructions before it cuts off.
I really wish they'd make an actual tweak to make it play as slow-paced as intended.

I know. That was the reason I instabought this game too. Total bummer.
As far as CPU Affinity goes, I checked on my physical copy, the EXE was set to CPU 0, and it was still fast. I'm hearing there is no definitive fix for the speed, but I really do hope GOG irons out the issues soon. Or at least some wily programmer in the GOG community comes through with a miracle.
When it comes to processor affinity you have to start the game up and when it is on the title screen alt tab out the game and open the task manager (ctrl alt del then select task manager - this is on Vista & 7). I always keep the task manager pinned to my start bar, handy when things like this happen.

Anyhow, once the task manager is open select processes tab. Find the Hitman exe file and right click, then select set affinity with left click. On the window that opens up uncheck everything except CPU0. Then click ok and minimise task manager, then alt tab back into the game and it should be ok.

You have to do this once you are on the games title screen, if you do it prior it wont work

There isnt a patch or alternative type fix for this from what I am aware of that sets affinity on the games exe permanently. So unfortunately you will have to do this everytime you start the game up.

I found this link a few years ago while trying to fix problems with some other games that had issues with multiple core CPUs, you might find it useful:

Doesn't work. I follow the instructions exactly, but the speed doesn't change. The game won't let me alt tab properly either; the only thing that appears is the bar, and trying to go to another program or the desktop shifts focus to the game again. I can alter the affinity by repeating the procedure after each click though, but it still does't help.

The best part is that the save games randomly disappear and appear. I've created a new one for each attempt as someone only got it to work when he started a new game, and later savegames randomly disappear and come back when I exit and start the game again. Can't wait for a real save to go poof, assuming the game ever works.

GoG seriously needs to fix this, or issue refunds. The game's page says that it's compatible with Windows 7, but that's like selling someone a car without mentioning that the steering doesn't work.

I agree with you if it's happening with essentially everyone who buys the game.

EDIT: Also, send a support ticket.

I must be one of the lucky ones. Am on Win7 64 and no problems here as of yet.
