Hi there,
is it true that there is no coop mode in this H&D 1 version? Nothing mentioned on the store page.

Because I enjoyed the coop mode with friends of the H&D deluxe edition which was one of the best coop experiences I ever had :)

Cheers

ok just found the mention

> Notice: multiplayer is not supported.

on the store page :(

nothing to do there? I remember it was IPX and the server had to be in an win xp virtual machine to make it work.
Multiplayer is not supported in either of the games it seems. Consider me EXTREMELY disappointed. I thought I would be able to play these with my best friend.
There is way to do it. Use VMWare and install Windows xp on it, then install HD and now you can have mp experience. Only host has to do this.

So multiplayer in both games is limited to winxp, no newer windows? Is there an explanation for this?

Perhaps WINE could also work, or is there something weird going on with the network support?

At the bottom of that page it says you can just connect to any ip+port (which I guess is what most of us will do to play coop, rather than run or connect to a public server) and there is no mention of any of it requiring xp to work?

The original game only ever had connect via IP (it works on LAN, just tested), there is no server browser unlike Deluxe (which used gamespy). To host a game you choose connect then host a game.
Ok guys, found easy solution.

github. com/Petethegoat/DirectPlay Fix/releases/download/1.0/DirectPlayVoiceFix.zip
i am not allowed to post links so remove spaces in link.

Download it and extract into your hidden&dangerous\bin folder. Then run install.bat and you can host mp on win10 too!
