Hey, it's TechGremlin that made the multiplayer guide on h&d net, I didn't check with the GOG keys and sure enough they are all the same, GOG didn't intend for the game to go online, probably because they couldn't get it working themselves, understandable but frustrating. Added to this they left cd key checking for duplicate keys on a server AND left checking for invalid keys when starting the game

If you don't want to go searching for an ahem *randomly generated replacement key* for a 13 year old game, there is a way to get it working yourself. The key is stored in the registry at "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Illusion Softworks\Hidden & Dangerous 2" in the key... key. Curiously the game doesn't check the 4th value in the first segment, or the first in the third, but also doesn't check anything after the end of the key as well and I tested to 20 more characters, so.....

Change the key where the Xs are, leave the 0s as they were, I won't post the actual key because that would probably be a bannable offense...

000X-0000-X000-0000XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Anything you want, make sure it's alphabetical or numbered, the chances of someone else having the same key after that is pretty low.
