hi, i bought the gog HOMM3 completion and it is said that there is a HD mod but i cant find it.
i have seen two famous mods posted on this forum. but i dont want to change the origin settings of the game like the new town, hero and monster because it seems to be a new game to me.
what i want are that the bugs in the origin game fixed mod and HD mod.
i also heard that some mods provide new button that simplify the process of buying monster from town and i prefer these mods too. i just dont want the mod changed the origin settings of the game that affected the content of the game.

There are 2 important mods for Heroes 3, I advise to play them only after you got bored with the Shadow of Death:
- HOTA (Horn of the Abyss): it introduces a new town (with new creatures and heroes), a few new map locations and artifacts and more. It also change some of the existing creatures and their stats, but nothing major. I just finished the 2 campaigns, it was fun.
- WOG, it changes a lot of things, some of the options can be chosen right before starting a scenario: a hero can learn more secondary skills, creature dwelling generate troops every day, level 7 creatures can be further upgraded and lots of other things. It can be fun, but also change a lot of the original gameplay.

Once again, I suggest playing the original game (only with HD mode if you want), and only after you got bored try the new mods.

Yes, there's other additions to consider for SoD. These are most of them.

1) Modded 'Cranim.txt' for faster battle animations. Everybody in the competitive screen is using this. You probably want to install this. (not needed for HotA)

3) 'HW Rules' add-on for HD mod (enforced and restricting rules as determined by the biggest Heroes 3 competitive community). It's a professional addition that you wont need right away or at all, but it's good to know about.

No real reason to install any mod at all as the game works great as it is. Especially after the unofficial fix for stereo music was included in the game installation.
