When pressing F4 in a game with the alternative windows version, the game crashed instead opening the debug menu? I play the game on a 64bit Win7 system. Has anybody got the debug mode to work?

I think the problem is that when you enter debug mode, it goes to windowed mode. Try downloading the wrapper for Heroes 2 from this thread; it should fix the issue.
