Got that bundle in a recent sale and it "surprised" me with its standalone installations. If I'm only interested in sandboxmode/custom games I can safely give HOMM5 the boot and only keep the Tribes version of it?

I took a quick look at both and at first glance it seems I would only miss out on a few maps (but get other ones) but will have two more fractions making Tribes the more "complete" thing if I don't wanna do the campaign.

Yes, but another thing: Tribes 5 redid the skill tree. I personally liked the original skill tree better.
