Hi guys first post here.

I remember when I installed HOMM3 a few weeks ago the first time I did the tutorial the game gave me prompts and highlighted things for me to click on and such, but now the tutorial just tells me to download the PDF and leaves me hanging with no instructions.

Now I'm not sure if I imagined it or there's some form of "first time use" tutorial or something.
Thanks in advance!

I got the game way back in when it came out, and it was same as the one that is now. Asked me to refer to manual, and had prompts and messages inside.
What I meant by "leaves me hanging" is that it just tells me to read the manual, which has a lot of text.

Personally I'm fine with that, but I wanted to introduce the game to a person that never played it, and the tutorial I followed in the beginning was really easy and straight forward, hence why I'm desperately trying to find it now.

It would highlight windows for me and icons and when I clicked on things it would pop up a prompt with an explanation, I didn't have to alt tab to the manual every step of the way, it was all in game.

This doesn't sound like the game's native tutorial, I thought perhaps GOG made some form of custom tutorial to go with the game since it's so old and no one reads manuals nowadays.

Ah, I see. Sorry I remember nothing about that.

The game's in-game tutorial does give pop-ups, more than the manual, so you can use it without manual. No highlighting though. So it is possible you're remembering some custom tutorial, but it's nothing I came across.

That doesn't sound like the HoMM3 tutorial. I'm not even sure highlighting with pop-ups is possible in HoMM3. Maybe you're recalling a different game (or a later HoMM)?
It was homm3 for sure, just not the native tutorial apparently.
Maybe my brain just short-circuited, I don't know.

Maybe it happened in one of the Chronicles games? The first one or two used the basic Restoration of Erathia tutorial, but I haven't looked at whatever was included with the later ones.
No it was just Heroes 3 complete from GoG opened with HD mod
