Maybe this game is just too complicated for me, but how far into the game were you before your knew what the hell you were doing?

The manual is very brief & I can't find a walkthrough. (Anyone have a link to one?)
Unless I'm missing something, carrying capacity seems very limited & I am going around dropping things I have no use for, to pick up others I have no use for. I haven't found anyone to sell my junk to yet.

I'm playing a mage, but in the dreamworld (where a mage should be most at home) it seems I have to fight with a dagger to get attuned to the dreamworld.

After you get into the city. Attunements replace magic and skills in this game so it depends what activate them once you learned and choose for active list (blade, blunt type or certain element of ranged weapon if you want be strict magic). Notice that you either can use Dreamform at character creation or level up that dagger, once learned and chosen attunement you can use any weapon because that skill rely only on being inside Dreamworld, dagger was used only to learn it no to keep active. There are other attunements to help you in dreamworld (spirit slayer and demon slayer if I remember correctly)

This is another game whose setting I like, I enjoy the ideas in it. The leveling, the attunements. But it is marred horribly by the combat and controls. Forget about clicking where you want to go, the only viable option is hold down the right button and moving the mouse. Actions you take are unresponsive at best, even the looting is a hit or miss proposition. People complain about Inquisitor's controls but this is ten times worse.

This game could have been something akin to Divine Divinity if it had even a passable control system. As it is I'm not sure I'll continue with it. It's a shame gameplay and controls are almost always the downfall of these titles. The creators put so much work into making these massive worlds, but it's obvious that the real trick in making a great game is having responsive controls and a elegant or at least passable interface.

All in all, this game just isn't very good. And I'm someone who is more than willing to overlook some flaws. I would suggest either Lionheart or Divine Divinity before touching this thing. Both of those games have flaws but nothing to this extent.

Nox...?? I found the controls in Nox to be perfectly fine for all 3 character classes.Plays like butter. I'm quick to complain about suboptimal controls in any game (and abort them for that reason alone) but Nox didn't aggravate me at all in this regard.
