Title says it all really: I can start the game, get to the menu but when I start a new game, it crash when loading.

The strange thing is: I did manage to launch a game once, by going from fullscreen exclusive to fullscreen windowed, but no longer since then...

No idea why it's searching for Kernel32 too:

So, I managed to have it run again, by selecting a different video mode then going back to fullscreen window. Worked fairly well until I died, then ran a bit more after the loading screen (last time it crashed there) when it threw me back to desktop.
Guess I'll have to run the windows box for this one...

You are more lucky than me. I never managed to boot the game a window seems to pop for a micro second and it closes instantly. I guess I'll try installing it on Windows at some point, at least it's gonna work.
I go through the same problem
I have the same problem as well, something happens to the desktop then a split second later it and the game have gone, this is on LinuxMint ver19 which has been happily playing other Unity based games without issue.
Locate the starting script, usually some "start.sh" in game directory.
Open a terminal in that directory, type ./start.sh and watch the output.

Will give you more than a splitsecond to figure out what is going on ^^

The log is actually in ~/.config/unity3d/"Cradle Games"/Hellpoint/Player.log. The last line after segmentation fault is:

Vulkan - Out of Memory!

I tried -force-gl-core or NOVK3D=1 but I think these options are for MSWin, since they have no effect.

Update: I think I found a way to lessen or eliminate segmentation fault:

In the main menu, go to Settings, Graphics, set Texture limit to something small like Eighth.

Now I don't seem to encounter any Vulkan Out of memory.

Hi, I'm replying here before starting a new post for this. I did this workaround but still the game is crashing pretty frequently ever since I passed Sohn District. I tried to cope with that since luckily the game keeps all your axions and retrying is in the nature of this gameplay, but I'm now crashing by entering a boss in the Arcology.

Is there a solution for this? I'm considering moving to a Windows pc if I can somehow retrieve all my progress files (you understand I'm not fond of starting from scratch all again) but what's the solution for the people who bought the Linux version and doesn't have access to a Windows machine? The moment the game starts crashing is pretty much past the refund window and people paid for the game under the statement this would run on Linux.

Have any answer?
