Look, if you're going to offer a game on your platform, you need to make sure the developers treat it the same as they do others. The Steam version of this game is FAR ahead in patches, and we still don't have the expansion over here! Not to mention the soundtrack. To some people it might not be a big deal, but it is to me.

You guys either need to get on their case about this, or stop selling the game on your site. A few days is understandable, but we're talking months here. A company should be required to offer equal support across all distribution platforms if they want to sell their products on your site. They're treating your site as inferior to those of your competitors, and if a potential new customer sees or hears about that it very well could result in a lost sale.

I don't know if it's them. Maybe you're making patches and DLC difficult on your end for some reason. Either way, something needs to be done about it.

Love you guys, but please get it together.
Maybe the game just isn't ready yet?

Steam has most games already as Alpha/Beta state and users get bored once it gets to release state (see TrainFever or Kerbal Space Program). I prefer GOG doing quality control on every patch or update before it goes live.
In TrainFever the pre-mature change to UTF8 messed up lots of peoples savegames on Steam and nearly all mods, GOG skipped this patch and got the fixed version afterwards.

tldr: Steam is testing ground, but from time to time GOG should get a stable release.

If it wasn't a stable release than we wouldn't have gotten the previous 1.03 patch. Someone is being lazy, that's all it is. Yes, GOG staff are lazy too as I've had this issue before where I know it wasn't the developers' in question for certain games. As for the DLC, well, it's hard to say who the trouble maker is. If the developer thinks that GOG doesn't sell DLC then they are just making poor excuses. However, if GOG just can't be bothered well, why should I keep buying new games here with that attitude.

What's funny about that is that I asked the developer of Kerbal Space Program if they would ever offer GOG.com keys in the same fashion as they do Steam keys (migrate game license to the platform, in other words). Their response? "No, GOG is too difficult to work with, so we won't be doing that."

GET. IT. TOGETHER. That's pretty damning for a company to say something like that. But considering that patches have been an issue in the past, I believe them.
1.0.3 was only 3 months ago and if you compare the systems. Yes, GOG is more complicated.

GOG (partial guess):
Optional single setup and offline patch or installer for every game/update with quality control by the team.

Steam (guess):
A folder on a server where the developer can do what they want with forced updates on every client (they don't really have a choice) for version control.

p.s. Eador just got the 1.60 patch :)

So no DLC for us? That's a damn shame. Without any explaination coming, why bother keeping buying game here?

If anyone bothered to contact the dev on the matter like I just did...
Their response is 'we are a small team, we do things one at a time; steam first then GOG.'

So it's not GOG's fault this time.

One thing I forgot to mention was the part 'GOG has a different updating system'. Had to read over it again sorry. Tried editing my post earlier but I kept getting 404 errors :\
