Folks on Windows with this problem are being told to install various Microsoft libraries, but I don't know how to do that with the Windows wrapper on MacOS X. I couldn't find an FAQ about that.

After an iteration with support, it turned out that Galaxy didn't keep Hacknet up to date (even though autoupdates were enabled). Support asked me to uninstall / reinstall, and it works great now.
