Played the crap out of this on my PSP a few years back. Fun adventure game. I wonder what other PSP to PC conversions we'll see in the future? =)

I'd also like to see more PSP ports in the future.

Though I never heard of this one in particular before I just picked it up because I'm a sucker for Zelda-esque games.

From a technical point of view it seems to run fine so far with the exception of the key-mappings. I can't map the D-pad buttons to anything because they aren't detected and neither is the right analog stick. Using a Dual-Shock 3 Controller via "Better DS3" I had to map "Camera Left/Right" to the shoulder-buttons as a fallback. It works fine but a little bit more freedom would have been nice. (Yes, I realize the game is older than the xinput stack.)

The mouse-keyboard controls are functional but very clunky and i would recommend a gamepad.

Nice and calm game for those rainy days. So far, 1 hour in, I'd say it's worth the ~€9 if this is your genre.

Wishlisted for now as my wallet hates me for buying the Cloanto Commodore emulator packages last week. But looking forward to trying this out.

Gurumin doesn't use XInput? Might need to use my Logitech F310 for this, or turn off XInput emulation for my PS4 controller. Oh well, nice to have options at least, heh.

As for other PSP ports, I would love to see something similar to the Dungeon Maker games. Both games were a bit slow to start, but once they got going they were a lot of fun. The Class of Heroes and ClaDun series would be kind of cool as well. =)

This is an update of the original PC release from 2004, not a port of the PSP port.
I've played around with the mapping but got no further so far. The folks over in the steam forum are reporting similar findings though, e.g.:

steamcommunity.com/app/322290/discussions/0/611701999539291240/

The problems I found so far:
a) unable to bind keys to the D-Pad, right analog stick and the shoulder-triggers
b) nonfunctional AA (I can't even force it via nvidia-panel)
c) FPS issues and/or stuttering
d) can't use several keys when naming the character, e.g. 'R'
e) the sound/music start skipping after some time

The steam release seems to have gotten one or two patches already but, as always, their forums are a mess so I'm not sure whether they actually fixed anything.

Might have to make an Xpadder or Pinnacle profile for it then. Shouldn't be too difficult. =)

I have the PSP version of the game, didn't know that there was an PC version though.

Did they update the graphics or add new content in comparison to the old versions (if anyone knows) ?

Definitely 'Ys Seven' MUST come to PC as well. I love 'Ys' series... and now 'Trails in the Sky' too ^^

I should get a copy of Gurumin soon as I've been waiting for the english release for PC :DD

Picked it up myself a little while back. I'm having no problems with the controls so far, using a PS4 controller with InputMapper emulating an XBox 360 controller. Controls seem to be about the same as the PSP version (I'd have to charge my PSP to compare, or find the box I stored the box/manual in, heh).

I'm not as familiar with the Ys series, but I'm looking forward to trying them out sometime. I have some of the games wishlisted for now. Another game I'd like to see ported is Valkyrie Chronicles 2, even if that means Steam (since that's where Sega is selling the first one). The two Star Ocean remakes would be pretty cool as well. And, now that we have Elminage Gothic, Elminage Original would be awesome as well. =)

I read about a crash related to Kernel. Is that confirmed in GOG's release?

I heard it happens if you start the game using specific fullscreen resolutions(ex: 1024x768 is displaying as 1024x600 so if you start the game using this resolution as fullscreen, the kernel will crash).

I read the changelog from GOG's 1.4 here but it's not mentioning about it.

I know this happened in gog gurumin 1.2f version(that is what the launcher said for version that only contained the installer) on that certain resolution you mentioned i got a kernel crash.
Now version 1.4 patch from here doesn't run at all for me so i can't test it for that.

I heard it still happens in 1.3. As 1.4 came out and you can't find this problem as fixed in the GOG's changelog, I have my doubts if it's fixed. Also people keep experiencing FPS drop even using the latest patch from Steam. I couldn't find FPS fix from GOG's changelog as well...
