Can anyone tell me where in the game I can configure the joystick settings?
I can't seem to find these ...

Or maybe someone knows where to find a configuration file for the Saitek Rhino X-56?

Thanks!

I have the same problem with my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro

It is unplayable without a working joystick.
I am playing with a Logithech Wingman Extreme 3D and the joystick is detected without problems, out of the box.

But into the data folder there are two ini files, one called custom.ini. Into it you can configure a limited amount of options like axes etc... There is another ini with more complex info. You could see inside to try things.

greetings

The game responds to the Rhino joystick, but not to the Rhino throttle. And I want to use the throttle for the collective :(

I have a Logitech Attack 3 and it responds to that, but of course I want to use the Rhino :P

In this link you can find profiles for some joysticks. One of them is for a Saitek Cyborg. Probably they are created for joysticks older than yours but, well, it is worth the try. Maybe one of them is partially compatible.

I looked into these files. There is no possibility to assign axis.

Ok. no axis remap there .That file changes things like sensitivity, mouse pan, invert options or mouse flght, (changing mouse pan to false).

Anyway I didn't have to modify anything in that ini to have the joystick or throttle detected.

No idea what can be happening with your joy. In the past the game even detected my gamepad as a joystick and it was usable.

Thanks, but no solution there either.
The game do not respond for my Saitek X52, but works with SVEN Aggressor.

For SVEN flight controls works okay, but out of 12 buttons only 4 do stuff:

1 - fire cannon;
2 - centers camera;
3 - turn on/off night vision;
4 - maybe lock-on targets?

I guess using joystick+keybord combo is the best way to play it.
As far as I can find there are no settings within the game for joysticks but it should automatically recognise one (but sometimes doesn't, see below). There is a folder called Joystick Setups which I think is profiles to load into the software that comes with those joysticks. There are various utilities that can be found around the net that let you remap buttons and axes if you want but the default setup is pretty basic and should work fine.

My Logitech Extreme 3D Pro wasn't recognised initially (playing in Win 10) but after some research (and finding very little info specific to Gunship!
I have a Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog and TFRP Pedals all connected to individual USB ports. The game did not work with my joystick out of the box. I used the TARGET software from Thrustmaster to configure individual axes, so Windows detects the 3 game controllers as one. I also used a program called JoyIDs which I found on the ATAG forum to force Windows to see the new controller (when running the Target script) as Joystick #1 in Windows. I imagine this can also be accomplished with other game controllers by using Joy2Key or something similar to consolidate the axes on multiple controllers into one virtual controller within Windows and ensuring that the virtual controller has ID#1.
