Is there any way to increase the resolution more than 1024x768? I'm on a 1440x900 monitor, and either way I look at it I see huge pixels of the doom kind. The stretching does not bother me that much, and I'm on a standard vga cable, so no flat panel scaling options for me.

Yea, my bad. I think I got a placebo effect since it LOOKED so much better... This is...irritating...

Remag: Contents of GC1600x1200.bat:
del .\data\gcvideo.dat
start GC.exe -1600
why is no one ackowledging Remag's solution here? it actually works. the problem is that the "-1600" parameter only works if "gcvideo.dat" isn't present, and you have to delete that file again after every launch of the game since it will always be re-created. hence Remag's idea of making a simple .bat-file.

this is good enough for me (i'm using 1600x1200), but i wonder if there isn't a more permanent, hassle-free solution out there...

BTW: i tested this with the demo.

I DID IT!

I disassembled gc.exe, tinkered a lot with it and - I don't REALLY know how (I'm not a programmer and I don't know x86 assembly ) - make finally Ground Control 1 to work at native resolution *_*

Love this game.. at 1920x1080 is gorgeous :) And.. it works flawlessy !

Chrisx, can you upload the file to an online storage site, as well as post a detailed step-by-step guide on how to do it yourself? I'm actually waiting or a patch like this one to start playing GW1 again. In my native 1920x1200 resolution, 1024x768 looks uber-crappy.
Can I ask if anyone successfully has Anti Aliasing or Anisotropic Filtering working with the game on an AMD card?

Maybe it's possible to use an FXAA or SMAA injector for these games. Have you tried that?
Hey guys,

I have made a simple program which can make Ground Control run at any resolution. If you can, please also upload it to some more reliable sources so it doesn't get lost.

I have d/l'ed all the files, but I don't have GC1 installed right now. I will keep them on my harddrive to be able to u/l in case they get lost. In the meantime, I hope that someone is able to verify if they work.
Working flawlessly. Many thanks. This program deserves a proper announcement and a pinned thread.
Yep, here too. Just patch once and go.

I even managed to get it to work without running launcher.bat. Just open gcvideo.dat in notepad, select all, delete & save. File size should be 0 bytes. Open the properties of the file and mark it as read-only. Lastly, add the -1600 switch to both the original and mod shortcut. Presto, your done.

Many thanks! Looks great!
I'm getting error code 4 in the resolution changer, please help!
