Hi,
Does anyone know where save files location is ?
Quoted from the Doublefine forums:

Where do I find the Grim Fandango Remastered save files?

* Steam: Right-click Grim Fandango Remastered > Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files, inside the Saves folder.

* DRM-Free Windows: AppData > Roaming > Doublefine > GrimFandango

* DRM-Free OS X: Library > Application Support > Doublefine > GrimFandango

* DRM-Free Linux: App Directory > bin > Saves.

Thank you.
can't find it... I have the drm free version, and the directories are not these ones...
Aye, they aren't there for me either. Any help with this would be much appreciated!

Which OS are you running?

- For Windows (GOG version) I can verify that they are at:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Doublefine\GrimFandango

(%USERPROFILE% is a windows variable, and Windows Explorer will replace it with the correct path for your user profile folder - usually something like C:\Users\MyLoginName\)

- For Linux (GOG version) I can verify that they are within the "Grim Fandango Remastered" directory that is extracted from the .tar.gz installer under the path:
"Grim Fandango Remastered/game/bin/Saves"
(in my setup this means they are under: ~/Grim Fandango Remastered/game/bin/Saves ) since I extracted the tar.gz installer in my home directory.

Thanks for the info on the windows location! But unfortunately I also need the location on Mac OS as I'm trying to transfer the saves from one to the other.

Unfortunately I don't have a Mac.
However aside from the quote that oriberu links above, there is another quote from a dev on the Double Fine forums, mentioning the location for the saves (where the registry.sav file also is located) as:
/Users/[YOUR USERNAME]/Library/Application Support/Doublefine/GrimFandango/

It's in none of those places unfortunately, but thanks for the help anyways!

Assuming the files are named the same on Macs, do a system-wide file search for "savedata0000", "grim.gsv" or "registry.sav"; that should take you to the folder. You have saved your game at least once already, right?

[Edit:] Alternatively, if there is a file called "goglog.ini" in your game folder, look for "Dir_0="; the path noted there might be where your saves are kept (it's for me, on Win 7). All names sans double quotes.

None of those work either but, again, thanks for helping!

Have you installed, played and saved the game at least once on Mac? What exactly doesn't work? Is there no save folder, no .ini file, no single savegame folders? More info, please.

Yes, done all of those things. There is no save folder, no .ini file, no anything. I think the mac version may just not present these things in it's files the same way the PC version does.

Just to clarify. Which part of the quoted path to the savegames is missing on your system?

You're welcome! :D
