No, it's not included. If you want to play the original, you'll have to buy the original CDs on eBay or whatever. These can easily be made to work on modern PCs via ResidualVM.
thank
s a lot, well this is a shame cause normally such versions should be included...... maybe gog.com can do it?
any news about putting in the original form @gog.com? wanna buy it now but if the original wont be included im gonna pass.
The original version probably won't be included separately, since it's included from within the game itself, and you can switch between versions at any time at the click of a button (much the same way as how the Monkey Island special editions allowed you to play the original version from within the game).
^ Doesn't this only affect graphics/resolution, and not the soundtrack?..

Yes, there is no ability to change the soundtrack. This is the reason I have no interest in this ReBastard version of this game. If they did it like they are doing Day of the Tentacle, then it'd be #1 on my WL, but now, it's not even on my WL. Wholly disappointing as I only ever got to play the demo back in the day and have long wanted to play GF very very much, but, apparently they don't care to let people like us play the game.

As someone who owns both versions, you're not missing anything from playing the original. The new version looks and sounds much much better. It also has better controls. I have no idea why anyone would even bother with the original unless their computer can't run the new one.

This is a very faithful re-release. Judging it just because is so beyond pathetic.
I can honestly see why they didn't choose to release the original soundtrack with this one, the new soundtrack is not that different than the original. The differences between the two are really subtle.

This is a contradiction to me. I'm missing playing THE ORIGINAL. I don't want to play something that looks sounds and feels better, I want to play it as originally intended. What's so hard to understand about that (if you can't understand, it is you who are pathetic)? Just because you don't care, doesn't mean others shouldn't.

but there ARE differences, and that is the whole point

Technically, this is how it was originally intended to be.

Except there are still way too many bugs in the remaster compared to the original for that to be true.

No, there aren't. Especially considering most (if not all) bugs from the original were fixed.

Yes, there are. The most noticeable being the smoke going through the head of each character wielding a cigarette (and there are quite a lot of these in this game).

Others are the underwater reverberation that is now missing, the incorrecty looping water in almost every scene - especially in Year 2, missing mouse hotspots, floating and invisible objects, characters getting stuck, the Sproutella logo being a replacement of the deadly skull with an ugly generic smiley and apparently the cat race announcer, who holds some vital clues to a puzzle, stops talking in a certain scenario.

Every game has bugs, it's just a shame that Grim Fandango remastered seems to have some very noticeable ones that the original didn't have.
