Hi

I am using the Linux version of the game and I am not seeing many of the supposed improvements from the patches. For example, things like:

- Bread can become invisible in your inventory after you use it on the roof. (1.2.2)
- Fix missing music stingers (1.3.0)
- Fix missing hotspots for striking bees, piano (1.3.0)

Now, I have double-checked that I have downloaded and extracted the latest version from GOG. However, I have noticed that in the game/bin folder there are two files (patch_v2_or_v3_to_v4.bin and patch_v4_to_v5.bin) whose names suggest I probably should be running them to. They don't seem to work very well, though, as I get errors when I launch them from the terminal.

A member of the Double Fine forums has said that the steam version has these changes applied (although I didn't quite understand whether he was running the Linux version), which is very intriguing to me. Can anyone here please check to see if these changes have indeed been implemented in their versions? Am I doing anything wrong?

Thanks in advance. :)

Yes, the Linux version has been updated :)

gog_grim_fandango_remastered_1.2.0.5.tar.gz is the latest version of the game, please make sure you have this tar.gz downloaded :)
Yes, that is exactly the version I have been using...
Perhaps you need to do a clean install of the game, Ponto. Other Linux users are not having the same issues as you. Also, you should NOT be running the .bin files.

It seems I have this issue as well, for the GOG Linux build.
The Windows GOG build is definitely updated, and seems to have restored the missing cues. I only checked with the Glottis one mentioned on the Double Fine thread here: http://www.doublefine.com/forums/viewthread/16544/#375653

In the Linux build, that cue won't play. This is after a clean install of the game. I removed the old folder, I downloaded the current Linux build (tar.gz file) and extracted it in a new folder, ran the game from there (start.sh) and started a new game.

This issue persists for me in the recent 1.4.0 version of the game.

I tried again with a clean install, and this time also in a completely fresh installation of the Ubuntu 14.10 Linux OS, with all updates. The music cue when Glottis goes back to his hut (Year One) is missing from the Linux GOG build. It is not missing from the Windows GOG build.

I don't have a Steam version (yet) to cross-check though...
I realise this is a pretty old post, but was the Linux build ever fixed?

I am running the 1.4 Linux version and also have the problem of missing audio stingers. So was there another patch from Double Fine or any way to fix this?
