When I try to play online, I get a "You must be logged in to GOG Galaxy" , even when I am logged in and launching from the Galaxy launcher. I've tried reinstalling both the game and Galaxy (both of which are fully up to date). Is anyone else having the same problem, and has anyone found a solution?

You can still play single player(or maybe I'm just lucky). If it helps at all, this happened around the time that Galaxy updated last time.

That is true, but my buddies and I were in the middle of beating a hardcore game! Single player won't help me in that department. :( :( :(

Oh, I see. I thought you were one of those people who tried multiplayer, and then went on to something else instead.

Just out of curiosity, what is the point of Hardcore mode? Extra challenge, or something else?

Hardcore is about extra challenge. We're all into roguelike games and what not so we prefer permadeath in our games.

On a side note: I tried the game on my other system in the same household and it worked... I'm not sure what could be causing it to work on one system and not the other when it worked on both previously. Very interesting indeed.

Network settings perhaps? I was mucking about in those at one point in time. I'll check that out.

Actually, while I'm curious about playing with other people, how does the game handle multiplayer loot? Is it like Diablo 3 where everyone see's their own loot, or does everyone see the same stuff and have to fight over it, like in World of Warcraft and old school Diablo 2?

So you have the option to do instanced loot, where its a different drop for everyone, or you can do a non-instanced loot drop. I believe thats where the loot drops for everyone and hten you have to divy it out to people as per need. Its really fun on hardcore because the weight you place behind your characters. The loss of your beloved toon is heart wrenching! :-p
