If you people need a control pad to play a Diablo-style crawler, mankind is in poor shape.

Some people enjoy using a controller more than a mouse/keyboard and for many who have wrist/hand problems it makes it possible for them to play and enjoy games. Sounds more like you're the one in poor shape if you can't see that.

I've been moving away from M/KB for a good while. Using it after some time gets very painful.

That Warning is completely misleading

I had the same issue back in 2021 when I played the game on an 1366x768 TV. If I remember correctly the game needs at least a resolution of 1024x768 with no GUI scaling applied. You can get rid of the warning by lowering the GUI scaling in the video settings tab. You can also ignore the warning and play the game but know that the gampad GUI needs more height than the mouse GUI and those additional elements will be cut off if the current GUI scaling does not fit in the vertical space your current resolution provides. If you know the button mapping oft the controller (like pressing Y in the skill tab to map skills to different controller buttons), those additional elements are irrelevant.

I hope my information is still relevant to you, or at least, is helpful for other people who may get confused by this misleading error message.
