Sounds like protected folders of your Antivirus Software. Set an eexception for Grimdawn.exe. It wants to save in a folder that is protected by the AV Software, Cloud Sync has nothing to do with it, as it just copies local saves to GOG cloud.

Dont use Defender, so cant say what to change there. In Bitdefender you have several possibilities for exception lists. Grim Dawn needs access to protected folders as AV "protects" the my documents folder because of ransomware out there.

Edit: or can be your account has no rights to access the save folder, too?

I tried to disable Windef. It didn't help also. So you are suggesting to use another AV?
ransomware is also disabled.
No i have admin rights. Other games saves works just fine. The only prob is with grim dawn.

Strange, maybe there are error protocols to take a look at. Usually when it wasnt saving this always was the problem of the people.

Hi Er1x.

Since you have administrator rights on your PC, I suggest you take a look at your [C: -> Users] file properties, and if "Read-only" is checked, then uncheck it and click "Apply"
Otherwise, take a look at your [C: -> Users -> (File named after your PC name) -> Documents -> My Games -> Grim Dawn] file properties and if "Read-only" is checked, then uncheck it and click "Apply".
After following either of the instructions mentioned above, launch the game and try to create a new character. Hope this solves your issue.
You could also try reinstalling the game.

Cheers.

Hi again Er1x.

This is very strange. No offense, but do you own a legitimate copy of the game?
If so, is your game updated to the latest version? You can use GOG Galaxy, the optional client, to keep the game up to date automatically, instead of having to manually download the update packages.

Cheers.

Ok let's try something else. I will post here a Google Drive link with my saved charachter. Try to import him in your game and let me know if it works.
Just give me a couple of minutes.

Hi,

I have the same problem.
Just bought it from GOG though the client, have tried everything listed here.
It's gonna be a refund on this game sadly.

Hi Thomas_Berg78.

We can try to import the character of another player and see if you can play as that character and/or if it allows you to create a new one.
Let me know via PM, so that I can send you a Google Drive download link to my character file, which you can then import in your game.

Cheers.
