I know it takes some time until patches, which are already live on Steam, appear on GOG. But come on, it's been half a day since the patch released on Steam and still nothing on GOGs side. :/

Here are the patch notes, for those who don't know:

Ver. 1.023:

Fast traveling! You can buy a teleport stone from the Tavern Keeper.
Made days much longer (9 minutes now).
Tools efficiency increased.
Ability to break old gravestones and fences to get resources.
Ability to craft a bucket of blood.
Fixed silver parts requirement.
Fixed fish kebab cooking recipies.
Increased iron ore drops and made stone infinite.
Fixed some issues in Korean / Japanese / Chinese
Isolated a bug related Turkish date format (a complete fix is coming later)

I corrupted my save by running into a bug taking items out of a box and tried to fix it by saving and restarting.. it saved the bugged state
By the way do NOT manually type in a number when taking a bunch of things out of a box, things in that box are now all 1 out of 0, and cant be moved, and if you do, definitely end task the game, do NOT save.

But because of that i have to start over, and steam reports the longer day and infinite stone is NOT applied to old saves, so i'm waiting for that patch.

Gog has already improved this and updating a game in gog is just as easy as in steam.

They have sold the game on gog and now they are only updating the steam version.

In addition the game has achievements in steam and not in gog.

It's sad that they sold very well in gog.They do not deserve it ...

They are updating it to GOG as well but with a small delay. It's now on v1.024.
In Steam there is no curation, I believe GOG does curate the updates? Someone correct me on this.

Well, the new patch came pretty fast in comparison to 1.023.

I'm also wondering why there is such a delay between Steam and GOG and I don't think that's the fault of Lazy Bear. Don't see any reason why they would want to delay the deployment from new patches. I mean, Microsoft and Sony also take some time to approve patches, so I guess it will be the same with GOG.

If someone knows the reason, let us know. ^^

Don't know exactly, but they are usually days behind Steam. Here's a recent tweet from Lazy Bear:

"The Xbox build is being patched as we speak. We are accumulating several patches into one since they need to go through certification."

Sounds prety much like GOG in that regard. So curation might be the holdup.

Also since Steam has more visibility than all the other stores put toguether, it's understandable the devs/pubs submit the patches there first.

Compare the total benefit for GOG and steam

For the moment these 2 companies are different , annual amount of benefit in not the same...

so please compare 2 similar things...

GOG do better month after month...

Debatable. Personally i find GOG to be atrocious. Sure they give your store credit to ballance regional pricing (a huge plus) but their refund policy is the worst in the business, and thats saying something.

After the disaster that was Witcher 3 i've never bought a 'new' game from them, and never will.

The refund policy is like this because, being drm-free, you could just buy the game, backup the installer, and then ask for a refund, and it will work like a charm. Steam, otoh, will prevent you from launching the game after the refund is processed.

Anyway, I find GOG worse than steam too... But since the ToS has changed I won't increase my steam account value anymore: it's too easy for them to ban you, and there's no appeal process nor any legal way to retain the property of your game.
Plus: DRM-Free copies. Just yesterday I borrowed Graveyard Keeper to my wife, because she was curious. Open browser, log in, download, install, play simultaneously. Easy peasy. Steam won't allow that, even with family sharing.
