What happened to Gothic 2? Why doesn't gog sell it anymore?

If I search for Gothic than only Gothic 1 comes up and if I click through the list only Gothic one is in the games list.

Did Piranha Bytes stop selling it on gog?

Nordic Games removed the Gothic series and many other games from the catalog. :-(

Thanks. The posting clarifies things. It's all about the pricing model. Nordic Games want a regional pricing model. They say they want it because of risk of exchange rate losses/gains but I bet it's all about selling games in Europe for a higher price than in the US or Russia.

It's really very obvious because even regional prices will not make sure you don't have exchange rate losses/gains. You always have to deal with exchange rates if you're selling international. But they think people are stupid and don't understand what's going on.

This is a reaction to gog's business practice to sell all games at the same price regardless of buyer's location.

i guess i understand, you guys may think this is just to take more money from rich countries but, to be honest, it also means poor countries will have the opportunity to buy at a price they can afford. So i guess it's ok. If you guys want to purchase the thing you can also do it on steam, i think the games are still there.

This is completely wrong. Companies sell their products in poorer countries because they can make additional revenue there. Besides you completely ignore that there are rich people in poorer countries and poor people in richer countries. Why not take your argument to a next level and make prices dependent on the income of someone? Poor people then don't have to pay for owning Gothic while rich people have to pay 1 million bucks?

In addition I don't earn money so game publishers can subsidize customers in other countries from my money. I simply don't let them because I simply don't buy. And I would certainly never buy the Gothics on steam. .

Wow, calm down bro. I would not like pay more than others for the same game either! You're right about it, my bad. I am not a entrepreneur after all. It was just a guess.

They sell games that are not compatible with their system knowingly.

What system? steamos? well, of couserse not. Windows7/8.1? I dont really worry baout it as the community always have patches for old games. Anyways, steam's new refund policy should suffice for people to buy these games and try to play them.
But i think these problems are worth dealing with for really good games like gothic, even with the drm and stuff.

Interestingly enough, all three Gothics are on sale on the GOG.com main page at this very moment. I'm not sure how long that's going to last, but let it be known that they are in fact discounted. A rarity.
