I just wanted to say it would be nice if GOG added Polish version to Gothic series available here. Especially 3 and the Forsaken Gods, as it would heal certain... ekhm... compatibility issues for 'Enchanced Edition'.

cdp.pl has Polish versions of Gothic 1-3 and Forsaken Gods.

If you have a Polish retail version of Gothic 3 and/or Forsaken Gods you can install the latest patches to remove the disc check and get all the fixes. You can also use these patches to play other language versions with Polish subtitles (only the Polish releases have Polish voices).

I wouldn't expect GOG to get the Polish versions any time soon.
In fact, that's just horrible. I purchased the product because that's not a problem for me to have the English version of the game. However, the Quest Pack is different for both languages, and it's MUCH BETTER in Polish rather than English! I don't want it in English then.. but I cannot install the Polish Quest Pack onto the English installation. As a result, I can throw that GOG version to trash and purchase on another site. Now, there are tons of Polish players for this particular game. 80% of players are from DE, RUS, PL. It's simply lacking reasoning not to include the Polish version.

I will keep this situation in mind when purchasing other products from GOG.

Why? They added it to G1, and CDP still have it's rights, so maybe they can get to agreement in the end...

It's hard getting this game in Polish.

CDP only offers the 1-3 saga as one product with STEAM keys and I am very confused about how that version can be Polish, since Steam does not support Polish version of these game. No audio, not even text. GOG offers the PL version of the first game and I might just get that because it's literally the only straightforward way where you know what you're getting and it's a trusted, reliable source. I would get the entire series pack, but I just noticed no other game than Gothic 1 has a Polish version. I'm ok with English, I would even love to play the original German version one day, but I am super nostalgic about the exact voices and exact phrases I've known from the PL version. They have grown so deep into my mind through all the times I played those games that I just can't imagine not being able to hear them one more time. I am not getting this series from GOG until they get the Polish version.

Please, if they managed to get the first, why not the rest?
I feel very disappointed in GOG policy in the matter of polish game versions.

1. GOG is a company FROM Poland, and as I understood that global market is more potent and important to developers, it still does not feel right to let go implementing polish translation into the games.

2. Yes - Implementing. Most of the titles I know about has been profesionally translated looong time ago.

3. Best part - the company which developed th translation and, for many instances, also professional dubbing was none other as CD PROJECT - mother company for GOG... (Titles like Gothic Saga, but also HOMM series, Baldur's Gate series, Icewind Dale series. Every polish gamer knows those translations...)

Looking at the points above, I don't see a reason why GOG neglected the issue. As a gamer dedicated to this polish and otherwise brilliant platform i feel... not important, forgotten.
While I do share the sentiment... but this could be not only on their side. They could have a license that states it's only in set languages - this way they can't go around it, until they change the whole agreement. They had it at one point, all of them in polish, and I just hope they will eventually get it back for 2 and 3.

Cool beans.
