Hi all :)
I just got this and started playing -- I am confused a little bit. How do I tell where my character is looking? Is there a crosshair or the like? I searched through the replies and haven't seen anything about this so I am thinkng that there is probably not. Still, I don't think it hurts to ask in case my game is being wierd!

Thanks!

There is no crosshair. The camera is locked behind your character's head, so wherever you point it is where he is looking. Things can be interacted with when they are in roughly the centre of the screen; this area is very wide--much wider than many RPGs--so the lack of a crosshair is no big deal. Targeted things are indicated by lighting up slightly (in the case of objects) and having a text name appear above it (along with a health bar if it's alive). You can use these indications to see exactly what you're targeting, and if there are multiple things you can just move the mouse a bit until it highlights the one you're wanting.

If you are talking about the first Gothic, note that you'll need to hit action+forward at the same time to interact with things (the defaults are Ctrl/Left Click and Up, or whatever you've changed them to). Fortunately they fixed this weirdness for Gothic II. :)
