I'm a little lost on how the level up process works and the manual is not much help. I leveled up for the first time and went to talk to Diego to train but there are no options in the dialog box. How do I train with Diego?

can't remember exactly what he says but it should be something like, "can you teach me something?". A lot of them won't train you unless you meet some criteria - perhaps Diego won't until you get the approval of the other shadows? I wish I was more specific but my memory is fried and its has been a while.

Leveling up works as such: Everytime you level up, you gain 10 skill points. You can spend these skill points on Strength, Dex, lockpicking, pickpocketing (which is a redundant skill), 1H weaps, 2H weaps, xbows and bows, or special skills like acrobatics and magic. You need to find the appropriate trainers to train them though. Also, other than magic, you can only train a skill twice before it gets maxxed out.

(note that you can only learn xbows from Scorpio)
