I was just wondering if anyone of you guys know the copies sold for Gothic 1 & 2.
I know Gothic 3 has sold more than 500,000.
Does anyone know the answer for Gothic 1 & 2?
I need real good answer with a link !!!
Please anyone help me out I'm curious!
As far as the amount of units sold for Gothic 1 & 2, I could not tell you. However, I can tell you that it is a successful series, especially in Europe where it is well known.
Each release did have its share of flaws, but these were later patched, and never deterred the series from doing well enough to be releasing its fourth title (although it has changed developer's hands)
There is still an active community that releases patches and whatnot for these games (they actually made Gothic 3 playable!), and if you are inquiring about the series because you are interested in giving these games a try, I would definitely recommend them.
Still waiting on a fix so they can be played on Nvidia graphics card and Win 7, but I expect that to be straightened out before the year is out, and possibly even the summer.
It sold an awful lot in Germany and Eastern Europe, quite a lot in France and UK, and sold poorly in USA.
It's extremally popular in Poland
The Gothic series is very popular in Europe in general. North American sales have always done poorly, but a major factor there is that they have never had access to the enormous advertising budget of other RPGs.

The other reason would be a pour english voice acting. The polish vsrsion was superb.
I don't think Gothic was released in France. Gothic II and Night of the Raven were marketed (with english voices) around 2005, that is to say, only one year before Gothic III and quite some time after the original release.
