I downloaded and installed community patch 1.74. I read that it fixed issues with the game.

I have 14.4 GB of memory left after installing the game. yet im still getting that error message when I try to run it. It's not a problem with my computer's storage space cause I have more than enough.

I paid for this game and I feel robbed. Patching it did not work.
Something about an access violation in Engine.dll. and a load of techno terms I don't get.

It's an error message titled "where is the guru?". It still will not run.

Can someone please help? I don't want to have wasted my money on a broken game. That even the latest patch could not fix.

If you are on Vista/Win7 and have installed game in Program Files (default installation path), you need to install the patch as Administrator. It's generally more hasle free to just always install games outside program files folder as UAC (User Account Controll - Microsoft's brilliant installation breaking feature introduced in Vista) can cause all sort of trouble.
Please see main board for continuation of this thread . OP had not met minimum system requirements for game.

You are correct Sir/Ma'am. I've moved past that and am looking forward to Neverwinter nights :)

If not that, Plans A and B are Oddworld: exodus and that Crusader Action shooter.
