Hey guys, I was looking forward to playing Gothic 3 in a playable styate, since it certainly wasn't when it was first released.

However, When moving around I'm finding that it almost never registers my mouse movement when trying to turn, and I always keep running for a few seconds even after I let go of the key. Sometimes I will even keep running well after taking my fingers off the keys, and my character will just run around as if he has a mind of his own. I've even tried plugging in a different keyboard and it doesn't seem to solve the issue at all. Any thoughs?

Sorry, I offer no solution but I have the exact same problem. Anyone?
Edit: I played the original (non patched) version of gothic 3 some years ago but my computer was too weak back then and I just left the game and forgot about it. I don't recall any horrible control problems like I'm encountering now.

Same here. Have you guys figured it out?
Same issue here. Think, there is still no solution, when I see that the first bug report is still older than 8 months...

I don't have this problem and I haven't seen it mentioned except here. Do you have mods? Win10?

There is some wierdness with the mouse smoothing sometimes, in the controls menu make sure you have the mouse smoothing slider over to the left and not in the middle.
If anyone is still reading this thread and frustrated, I found a solution for my game.

Try running the program at 640 x 480 in the compatibility settings. You MUST change the resolution in the .ini file as well or it will crash.

Other users suggested enabling vertical sync with the graphics card. I didn't find this helpful.

Another weird one that helps some is to turn off the enhanced pointer movement function in the mouse properties.

Hope you haven't given up!

You call THIS a solution? To play a game in 640x480 and that in 2019?
Hell no!
If anyone still has this problem try to go to game settings in GOG Galaxy, and unchek In-game overlay (I also have cloud saves unchecked, but I don't think this is relevant). Than go to in-game settings and slide smoothing axis to -100. Works for me.

Think it may have something to do with having a mouse with an option of changing DPI. Commandos BEL and BtCoD both have some issues with said mouse. When I plug my other mouse they're fine.

Thanks a lot!

This guy got it: the overlay is the culprit. You can simply turn off the overlay and the controls will be back to normal (no need to turn off mouse smoothing or cloud sync).

Now back to getting frustrated by the fighting mechanics :D.
