Since I doubt there's any kind of real answer to this, I didn't make it a question thread.

What's with the seekers? Why do they sometimes NOT attack me when they first spot me?

Actually I think I know why- it's so I can get 'possessed occasionally if I'm careless... but then why do some just attack me normally?

It's really throwing me off, and since I don't want to get possessed I keep having to find something to take cover behind after I shoot them with my crossbow from close-range :D

On a slightly different note- fighting multiple seekers at once SUCKS! I have yet to find a good solution to this...

If you get them to attack you, you can engage them with melee without getting possessed. That only happens when you get close to them before they see you.

Are you absolutely certain? I've tried running around 10 feet away from them in front of their eyes and sometimes they still don't attack me. It seems to be random whether or not they do or not.
Yes. Some of the Seekers are Kill On Sight, some of them will try to speak to you first (if you are close enough and won't attack them). After speaking with a few of them (2/3, I think), you get possessed. They're not random, but because of their daily routines (they move around the world), it is hard to know exactly which one is passive/active until you're in their range.
So just some are immediately hostile and some wait for you to get within their radius before possessing you, huh.

Guess I'll just take each Seeker as they come.

But if you get them to fling fire at you, there will never be a possession. For this reason, I use a cheap spell or arrow to get their attention then run to them in a zig zag fashion to fight them with melee where their magic attacks cause no damage if you are careful. I'm not a techy so I don't know how they are coded but even the not kill on sights will fling fire if you injure them from a far and will not possess you. At least that's never happened in the case I've described to me in some half dozen or so play throughs.

Yep, that's what I've been doing.

It's not really in question at this point but my original thought was "why do some of them auto-attack and some don't?" I guess it's so you can get possessed sometimes but can't abuse their refusal to use range against you?
