According to a guide I've been reading on GameFAQs, there's supposed to be a +3 Strength ring above a cave entrance (with giant rats around) just outside of the city walls. It's meant to be near a skeleton, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I've been trying to climb what look to be ledges, but everytime I jump I seem to bounce off the rockface. All this constant colliding with the geometry is making me get motion sickness.

Go out the North gate and up the path to the Tavern. Take a left up the stairs to the farm and turn left again at the top and follow the path keeping to the left. You will end up on a ledge with the ring.

It's okay, I found it. The guide was referring to a ledge above a different cave entrance near the gate. In case you're wondering, it's the "Quick-Start Guide".

I guess I should mark my own post as the solution, but I can't.
