I can hear sound, but I cannot see the videos. The game itself plays fine, however.
I have:
AMD 64 x2 5000+ cpu
Nvidia Geforce 9500 GT with 1024 on the card
4 gigs of memory
Windows Vista 64 Home Premium
I have updated to the newest drivers for my video card. I searched the forum, but I don't think I found the same issue...however if there is a thread for this already, let me know and I'll look at it.
Like I said the game plays fine. I have installed the players kit and the Ironkeep unoffical patch, but the game had this issue before I plugged in either of those. (I had hoped the unoffical pathc would fix it.)
Any ideas?

Sometimes changing the scalevideo option is all it takes, other times it requires adittional steps.
It's good to know you got it working ;)

Yah I don't think it would effect the game in anyway, but I just like having the videos work. After laying the risen demo this weekend, I got the urge to play gothic again :D

I think it only affects the intro and outro sequences.
Oh man, don't even get me started on Risen.
I really liked the demo, and the game looks great and a definite must for those who enjoyed the Gothic games, but unfortunately the 73US$ (49,99€) that digital distributors are asking me for it, well...it's not going to happen. It's not that i can't afford it, but i just won't get it at that price.
I guess i'll be playing it in 6 months to a year when the price drops...
Edit: oops, the Avatar change confused me there for a moment :)

Heh yah I put in a Gothic Avatar ;) The game is 40 or 60 bucks here, but I won't be playing it until jan or feb. I have to many games right now, plus I am going to be getting Dragon Age in Nov. I really liked the Risen demo, but it is also one that can wait.
