I'm using a Windows 7 64 bit OS. I have an ATI Radeon HD 5970 graphics card with the latest drivers.

I can run the game just fine, but over the course of about five minutes, the game sort of decays. First lights begin to flicker, then texture oddities pop up. The game will often freeze while in dialogue, and going to a merchant screen will accelerate the problem at a rapid rate.

I've reinstalled the game three times, and I want to know if the problem is a result of my OS or graphics card.

Hi,

Do you still have the same problem? I recently purchased Gothic 1 and playing it on Vista 32bit without any problems. I have no idea about Windows 7 though. I found the following article for you, maybe it could help.

Don't know about Ad_Hoc but that link definitely helped me enjoy the game. In my case it is Win7/32bit + Nvidia 8600m GT. Without the files provided by that link the game is nearly unplayable. After the "patch" I never had any issues yet.

@GOG: you should include a fix like this in your installer, otherwise there will be a lot of Win7 users unhappy with their purchase.
